The Golden State Warriors are going through a difficult season because of the passing of their beloved assistant coach Dejan Milojević. With less than two weeks until the 2024 NBA trade deadline, trade rumours about the Warriors are still rampant. Golden State is now ranked 12th in the Western Conference, so over the next few weeks, general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. could expect a lot of calls to his phone.

The Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, the Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, and even Pascal Siakam—who the Indiana Pacers acquired from the Toronto Raptors last week—have all been mentioned as possible targets for the Warriors. Everyone who isn’t Stephen Curry is supposedly available for Golden State, including Jonathan Kuminga, Chris Paul, and Andrew Wiggins. Aside from Curry, Kuminga in particular may be the most valuable player on the Warriors.

Ahead of the trade deadline, HoopsHype Senior NBA Insider Michael Scotto and Anthony Slater of The Athletic recently talked about the most recent information regarding the Warriors rumours. Golden State is supposedly “reluctant” to sell Kuminga and would only consider doing so if they were to receive an All-Star player back, according to Scotto.

Kuminga has undoubtedly earned such a high worth, especially considering how he has been performing the past two weeks.

Mike Dunleavy Jr130-127 defeat to the Denver Nuggets on January 4, he was benched despite his impressive performance of 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting, four rebounds, four assists, and a team-high +19.

That evening was called “the straw that broke the camel’s back” in an article by Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic. Since then, the two have worked things out. While Golden State is in chaos, it is now clearer where Kuminga should stand outside of trade negotiations.
