Cleveland Browns supporters have been afraid of this moment since Bill Callahan, the offensive line coach, is joining his son on the Tennessee Titans.

In order to pursue a lateral transfer while still under contract, Callahan needs permission from the Browns to speak with the Titans, according to Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot.

The Browns will not obstruct Callahan given the opportunity to work with his son Brian, the new head coach in Tennessee.

Having worked under Callahan for four years, Scott Peters is already employed by the Browns while they search for a new offensive line coach.

In addition, the Browns interviewed Andy Dickerson, the offensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks in the past, to fill the position of offensive coordinator. They might be able to entice him to visit Cleveland as well.

One of the top offensive line coaches in the NFL is leaving, which is a sad day. However, it’s time to move on to his substitute now.

On Thursday, the head England Patriots, led by head coach Jerod Mayo, announced the hiring of Alex Van Pelt as their offensive coordinator

. For the previous four seasons, Van Pelt, 53, was the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.

Additionally, Jeremy Springer, the Rams’ assistant special teams coach, was hired by New England to be the special teams coach, while DeMarcus Covington was promoted to defensive coordinator.

Under Van Pelt, the Browns scored 408 points in 2020, which is the second-highest total in team history.

2023’s total of 396 points was the fifth-highest. Before making his NFL debut in 31 games with the Buffalo Bills from 1995 to 2003, Van Pelt was a successful quarterback at Pitt.

As a starting quarterback, he had a 3-8 record with a career total of 24 interceptions compared to 16 touchdown passes.

In 2005, he started his coaching career in NFL Europe and a season later, he joined the Bills. Before the 2017 season, the 34-year-old Covington joined the New England staff.

He has been the defensive line coach for the previous four seasons.

Samford was Covington’s college football team before he went into coaching. This month, Springer turns 35.

He worked as a special teams assistant for the Los Angeles Rams for the previous two seasons. Prior to starting his coaching career, Springer was an athlete at UTEP.

After 2023, Mayo succeeded longtime coach Bill Belichick. –Media at the Field Level
