A new chapter in college football history is about to begin with postseason play. Starting with the 2024 season, the College Football Playoff will consist of twelve teams instead of only four. That gives a number of programmes, many of whom aim to move on to the next stop, a better chance of contending for championships. With the new CFP system, 247Sports has determined which top-25 program’s greatest weakness is going into the upcoming season. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava is the centre of attention.

Josh Heupel, the head coach of Tennessee, has led a number of historically successful offences, but it is undeniable that the 2023 vols regressed. The passing offence was not as good as it had been the previous two years, however there were a number of other reasons that also played a part. Iamaleava lived up to the belief in Knoxville, Tennessee, when he made his first career start, as he is thought to be the missing piece of a successful aerial attack.

He scored four total touchdowns, rallying Tennessee to a 35-0 win over the No. 17 Iowa Hawkeyes. Iamaleava had a lot of promise when he arrived at the University of Tennessee, and many are excited to see if he can extend that buzz out over the length of a whole college football season.
