The midfielder has been in the cold for the last six months but it seems the fans will have another opportunity to watch him on the pitch.
Andile Jali became a free agent in January when his contract with Moroka Swallows was terminated owing to a disciplinary breach.
Since then, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star has been in the market for a new team, and according to his agent Mike Makaab, the journey is close to ending.
“I can only say that we are very close to finalising a new home for him; I will not disclose [which club] now, but I can assure you that it will happen within the next seven to 10 days,” Makaab told Gagasi FM.
“Talks are at an advanced stage between ourselves, AJ, and the football club. He’s remaining in the [Premier Soccer League]. I am not even prepared to whisper which province.”
At 34, Jali might not get a place in the top teams but his experience will surely be vital for the mid-table clubs.
Having featured for Pretoria University, Sundowns, Pirates, and Swallows in the past, it is interesting to see Jali’s next destination.
The former South Africa international must work on his fitness to ensure he is ready to deliver during pre-season.
Jali will also have to work on his discipline to ensure he ends his career on a high as opposed to being dismissed the way it happened at the Dube Birds.
