When Callum O’Hare is prepared to return to Coventry City, Mark Robins says “it won’t be too long”.
O’Hare suffered a significant knee injury at the conclusion of last year, which kept him out of action. However, the former attacking midfielder for Aston Villa, who is in the last year of his contract, is getting closer to playing again.
Robins was questioned on Monday night at a BBC Radio CWR fans’ forum on O’Hare’s fitness as of right now. The Sky Blues manager stated that fans may be taken aback by what they witness if he returns to the team.
“It is obvious that when you have someone with his caliber, work ethic, talent, and ability,
When he begins to play consistently, that will come off of him. I’m trying not to push him too soon, but he told me he was ready when he came to see me the other day.
“We really can’t wait for him to return, but I still believe he has more to give. It’s great to watch Callum play at his best, and it won’t take long.”
Robins declined to provide a precise timeline for O’Hare’s comeback, but he did disclose that the under-21 team might be heading out soon. “He’s not too far away,” he continued. “He hasn’t played any games yet, but he has been training and getting some practice minutes and games in behind closed doors.
“However, he will soon play in a 21s game at 100%. I think I could get him very close to that. He is really important, in my opinion, and I’m sure that on Saturday I heard his followers singing in his honor.
That doesn’t necessarily mean I have to decide anything. All I have to do is make sure that when he walks in, everything is fair and reasonable. However, it won’t take long at all.”
