Over the years, Buffalo Bills supporters, also referred to as “Bills Mafia,” have grown to be among the NFL’s most devoted fan bases. With their daring table-jumping before games and their kind humanitarian donations, Bills supporters have made a lasting impression on the NFL community.
It may come as no surprise that Bills Mafia enjoys its alcoholic beverages for a crowd that is known for having a good time. In a recent survey, British Gambler found that, on average, Bills fans consume 3.3 drinks every game, more alcohol than any other fan community. Just behind the Bills with 3.2 drinks per game were the supporters of five other teams: the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Other intriguing information on the drinking habits of Bills supporters was also disclosed by the study, which also included English Premier League supporters. The Baltimore Ravens fan base was ranked as the most likely to “pregame,” followed by Buffalo supporters. Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Bills, was also placed third by fans among signal-callers they’d most like to get a drink with, only surpassed by Joe Burrow of the Bengals and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Buffalo Bills’ fans are notorious for their pregame tailgating antics, so it’s really no surprise that the “Bills Mafia” grabs the top spot for NFL fans who drink the most,” writes the British Gambler.
Even though Bills supporters consume the most drinks per game, they are nevertheless able to maintain a reasonable price. According to the survey, Bills supporters spend the eighth-highest amount in the league—$23.75—per game on alcoholic beverages. With an average expenditure of $28.31 on drinks each game, Saints supporters were revealed to be the most extravagant.
