Sean McDermott, the coach of the Buffalo Bills, has a.640 winning %, which is the greatest in franchise history after seven seasons on the job. In addition, he has 73 victories, second only to the legendary Marv Levy in team history.

Even still, a lot of people have started to lose faith in McDermott, even though he is among the best Bills coaches ever. When Buffalo went through a rough patch in the middle of the previous season, a lot of people called for McDermott to be fired. Following the team’s second consecutive postseason failure—this time to the Kansas City Chiefs—the cries for McDermott’s dismissal have resumed, if not nearly as loudly as they did previously.

Many Bills supporters are starting to lose patience and frustration with McDermott as the team continues to struggle in the postseason. Rich Gannon, a former MVP quarterback and one of the best signal-callers to never win a Super Bowl, can easily relate to the dissatisfaction expressed by Bills Mafia.

“I understand the fan base’s frustration,” Gannon said to The Athletic. “They consistently stub their toe in the postseason after winning a lot of games throughout the regular season. It’s normal to question why we can’t win and to consider whether Sean McDermott might not be good enough. There’s not much time left.

Gannon, meanwhile, doesn’t think McDermott is the reason the Bills aren’t taking home their first Lombardi Trophy. Even though it gets harder every year, Gannon believes the Bills can achieve their ultimate goal with McDermott and superstar quarterback Josh Allen.

“Observe the league,” Gannon commanded. “They’re in a top-five position. They have a fantastic football coach and a quarterback. Both are uncommon to be found in the same city.

Those are the two individuals I would most like to establish a team with. Therefore, let’s stop wasting our time on those two. Together, let’s determine how to cross the finish line.

What then does Gannon think the issue is? Regretfully, it’s simply bad luck.
