During Monday’s Rose Bowl overtime loss to Michigan, Alabama’s center Seth McLaughlin came under fire for his snapping skills.

According to numerous reports, placeholder McLaughin registered on the transfer portal and is probably going to play at a different school in 2024. After he began to play later in the 2021 season, he went on to start eight games in 2022 and all of the games in 2023 until the Michigan loss.
The publication reported that McLaughlin’s snapping problem returned this season and caused significant issues during the College Football Playoff semifinal. Jalen Milroe’s goal-line sneak in the game’s last snap was low, which prevented the quarterback from entering the end zone.
According to the New York Post, Milroe told reporters following the game, “With anything it takes preparation, whether it’s pass protection, whether it’s the running game, the passing game.” “We worked hard to establish a strong bond between the quarterback and the center throughout the entire season.
My conversation with Seth covers a wide range of topics in that regard. That is something we do discuss.”
Prior to the season beginning, McLaughlin was also included on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy. The best center in the country receives this trophy at the conclusion of the season.
At least ten Alabama players have already accessed the portal, including him.
Ourlads reports that redshirt sophomore James Brockermeyer and graduate Darrian Dalcourt are in Alabama’s center depth chart.
