3 Raiders won’t return after being eliminated from the playoffsRaiders could make big changes after third straight seasonThe Las Vegas Raiders had some good times last season.
They scored 63 points in a game against the Chargers and even beat the Chiefs on the road on Christmas Day.
They fired Josh McDaniels and may have found their head coach of the future in Antonio Pierce.
There were some positives for Las Vegas, but it was still a disappointing season. The Raiders are currently 7-9 and have been eliminated from the playoffs.
They had hoped that the move from Derek Carr to Jimmy Garoppolo would help them get back to the playoffs and even retain some valuable assets, but they would find themselves with a losing record for the third straight year.
Big changes could come for the Raiders this season. We don’t know what will happen with Antonio Pierce, but it’s hard to see either of these players wearing silver and black in the 2024-2025 season.3)
Josh Jacobs will not re-sign with the Raiders this timeJosh Jacobs having a long-term contract was a major storyline in the preseason before he was finally able to work out a deal with the Raiders to let him play next season.
It was a must for the Raiders to bring back Jacobs as he was arguably the best running back in football in the 2022-2023 season.
This season, however, was a different story. Jacobs appeared in 13 games for the Raiders and totaled 805 yards.
His yards per attempt dropped from 4.9 to 3.5 this season, taking him from one of the most efficient runners to the least efficient in the league.
Jacobs ranks seventh in the league in rushing (despite missing time due to injury) and 24th in rushing yards. That tells you everything you need to know.
The Raiders had no interest in signing him long-term when he was still among the elite.
They certainly won’t have any interest in him being a year older and sitting out the season.
He had some good moments with the Raiders, but it seems like it’s in both parties’ best interests for a divorce to happen.
