Steelers Named All-Pro Wide Receiver’s Landing Spot
The former Offensive Player of the Year may end up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh — This offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers may be searching for a new seasoned wide receiver to replace Allen Robinson, since Robinson’s salary budget hit is projected to rise.
However, the team has been mentioned as a contender for New Orleans Saints standout Michael Thomas in his place.
Three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro pick Thomas just finished his career with 39 catches for 448 yards and one touchdown.
Despite having missed two seasons with 1,000 yards in a row, he is still anticipated to draw some interest in free agency.
The Steelers and the Denver Broncos are reportedly his top two landing destinations, according to Pro Football Focus.
Pittsburgh is also considering adding another veteran to fill their slot job, even though they could have to contend with a reunion with Sean Payton.
“Though his lack of production was partly due to his own actions, Pittsburgh signed Allen Robinson to be the big slot possession receiver in 2023.
With Thomas entering the game at No. 3 alongside Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, the Steelers may try again.
Putting Pickens and Johnson more in the slot to help separate the field more on out-breakers like corner routes—a area in which Pickens thrived in 2023—
