Harrison Barnes, a forward for the Sacramento Kings, outplayed his old team, the Golden State Warriors, on Thursday night, scoring a game-high 39 points. Barnes said on the TNT broadcast following the game that it felt wonderful to play his old team on such a significant night, but he maintained the team’s concentration.
About his play, Barnes remarked, “I’m just trying to maximise opportunities.” “We feel like we have a good team, when the ball is moving you want to take open shots, the ball is finding me, I’m just trying to maximise my opportunities.”
Barnes commented, “The biggest thing is we know we’re a resilient group,” when asked how much the Kings will discover about their team over the next few games. We have faith in the guys that are in this locker room. Go out every night and attempt to win some more games; we’ll accept it if you can make them more convincing than this one.”
For the Kings, who are attempting to fend off clubs like the Warriors in the Western Conference standings, this was a significant victory. It was another disappointing setback for Golden State, which further distances them from the postseason picture.
The Warriors appear to be getting farther away from being a championship-caliber club as the season progresses. It remains to be seen if a trade can salvage this season, but Golden State needs to make a move.
