The hunt for the next Alabama football coach is under way, and Nick Saban’s replacement will be announced shortly.
After 17 seasons leading the Crimson Tide to six national championships, ten SEC West crowns, and nine conference crowns, head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement on Wednesday. After fifty years of coaching, during which he won seven national titles in all, along with many other achievements, Saban announced his retirement.
Greg Byrne, the director of athletics at Alabama, will now search for Saban’s successor. When Byrne started the position in 2017, he was aware that he would eventually have to make this choice, and that time has come.
Byrne will appoint who?
Although he is renowned for keeping his coaching searches under wraps, a decision won’t probably be delayed. Players in Alabama are waiting impatiently for the ruling to determine whether to stay or use the transfer portal. With Saban’s departure, Crimson Tide athletes now have a thirty-day window to do so.
This page will be updated with newly discovered information as the search continues. Here are the things we know and are hearing on the search for a new Alabama football coach.
