The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly losing another large portion of their coaching staff following the firing of Pete Carroll.

According to reports from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero on Monday, Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron is expected to take on the same role with the Chicago Bears.

“The Bears are working on a deal to hire Shane Waldron as their new offensive coordinator, sources say,” Pelissero tweeted.

“Waldron, 44, spent the last three seasons as Seattle’s OC. He is now expected to end up in Chicago, which has the No. 1 pick and a big question at QB.

Pelissero initially reported in January. 10 that the Bears had requested an interview with Waldron.

Now he has the opportunity to get creative with the dynamic Justin Fields as the Bears’ quarterback. While it’s unclear if Fields is Chicago’s true signal caller for the franchise, he is an electric player who has made nice strides this season.

He threw for a career-high 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns in 13 games. Fields has only thrown nine picks, although the touchdown-to-interception ratio still leaves a bit to be desired.

Under Waldron, the Seahawks offense underperformed despite being loaded with talent.

Seattle has averaged 12 fewer offensive yards per game this season (322.9).Now that he’s in Chicago, he’ll try to change things for that offense and that franchise.
