Another quarterback has been added by Ohio State for the 2024 class. According to ESPN, former five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, who committed to Ohio State on Sunday, signed with Alabama in the 2024 class. Sayin registered on the transfer portal on January 19, following the retirement of Alabama coach Nick Saban and the transfer of 2023 four-star quarterback Austin Mack to Alabama after he followed coach Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa.

Sayin told ESPN that he was “incredibly excited to join the team here at Ohio State.” “I held this programme in high regard throughout my entire recruiting process and am looking forward to learning from some of the most talented players and coaches in college football and contributing to our team’s success.” Sayin, safety Caleb Downs, and centre Seth McLaughlin are the three Alabama transfers who have committed to Ohio State before 2024. Bill O’Brien, a former quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator for Alabama, was hired by Ohio State on January 19 and will work in the same capacity under head coach Ryan Day.

Redshirt sophomore Devin Brown, redshirt freshman Lincoln Kienholz, freshman Air Noland, and Kansas State quarterback transfer Will Howard were already on Ohio State’s roster going into 2024. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Air Noland was the No. 4 quarterback in the class of 2024. Sayin, a native of Carlsbad, California, is ranked as the 2024 class’s top quarterback and fifth player overall.

Sayin won California’s Gatorade Player of the Year award as a senior. 2,347 yards, 24 touchdowns, and one interception were all thrown by him. Four more touchdowns came from his rush. After Sayin committed to Alabama in November 2022, Ohio State made him an offer in January 2023.

Along with Howard, McLaughlin, Downs, Mississippi running back Quinshon Judkins, and Ohio tight end Will Kacmarek, Sayin is Ohio State’s sixth offseason addition.
