Tom Telesco, the former general manager of the Chargers, might decide to remain in the AFC West.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Telesco will interview with the Raiders to fill the general manager position.

On December 15, the day following Los Angeles’ Thursday Night Football loss to Las Vegas 63-21, the team dismissed Telesco and head coach Brandon Staley.

Since 2013, Telesco has been a member of the Chargers. Under Telesco, the Chargers finished 84-92, qualifying for the playoffs three times and winning two of them. Three head coaches, Mike McCoy (2013–2016), Anthony Lynn (2018–2020), and Staley (2021–2023), all had Telesco as their general manager.

From 1998 to 2012, Telesco worked with the Colts, progressing from area scout to vice president of football operations before joining the Chargers.

According to reports, the Raiders have asked to speak with a number of executives, and Champ Kelly, the interim general manager, is a strong contender for the permanent position.

Like all the other clubs looking to fill voids in their front office, the Raiders will be shopping for a lot of big names. In addition to asking to interview Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds and 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters, the team has already requested to speak with current interim general manager Champ Kelly for the noteworthy job he did at the end of the season.

It will be an odd sight to see Telesco donning the black and silver as a divisional competitor if he manages to get the job.

As supporters of the Chargers, is this really a good thing? Do we support this? Please share any of your ideas with me below!
