Shaun Dolac will be moving west to continue playing college football.Dolac, a former University at Buffalo linebacker, announced on social media Wednesday that he will transfer to Utah State.
The West Seneca East graduate announced Nov. 28 that he had entered the transfer portal after four seasons with the Bulls.
He has two years of eligibility and will join the Aggies, who play in the Mountain West Conference, as a graduate student.
At Utah State, Dolac will again work with Aggies defensive coordinator Joe Cauthen, who held the same position at UB during the 2021 season.
In four seasons at UB, Dolac went from special teams player to top linebacker.
During his career, he had 223 tackles, six sacks and seven passes defended. In 2022, Dolac led the nation with 97 solo tackles and was second with 148 tackles.
Dolac was expected to partner with linebacker Joe Andreessen in the middle of UB’s 4-2-5 defense last season.
However, Dolac has played just four games this season after suffering a left leg injury in a 45-38 loss to Louisiana on Sept. 23.
Dolac made 32 tackles and one interception for the Bulls, who finished the season with a 3-9 record.
