Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE John Calipari, the new coach of Arkansas, is faced with an intriguing situation. There are no athletes on his roster. No, there aren’t any current returning talents in Eric Musselman’s cabinet.

The last two players on Arkansas’ roster declared their intention to search for better opportunities or left school today. With 13 scholarships at his disposal, Calipari can assemble his team from the bottom up.

It’s possible that the new coach in Arkansas will be able to use a few of them to trade for Kentucky signees. Of course, if there has been a coaching change, the NCAA releases incoming freshmen from their letter of intent. Since it was announced on Sunday that Calipari was moving to Razorback country, there has been a lot of activity. It’s very likely that some of his No. 2 ranked signing class will follow him to Fayetteville.

Early on Monday morning, rumors were beginning to circulate that Karter Knox had reopened his recruitment.Nearly a month after committing to the Wildcats, the No. 19 overall player in the 2024 class reportedly decided to look elsewhere, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Moving to Arkansas wouldn’t be too unexpected, as Knox was thinking about the Razorbacks when he was still a recruit. Fayetteville was in his top eight before he narrowed it down to four schools, but he didn’t visit the school. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound forward chose the Wildcats as his team because of Calipari’s history of placing players in the NBA.

Playing for Overtime Elite, Knox’s game stats include 23 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal on average. This season, the McDonald’s All-American shot 44% from the field and 34% from three, but 63% from the foul line, a percentage that should rise in college with increased emphasis on this area.
