Excitement is building around Ibrox as Rangers FC close in on the signing of Aston Villa defender Kosta Nedeljkovic in a major move for the club.
The 20-year-old Serbian right-back is set to join Rangers on a season-long loan, with the agreement repor
tedly including an obligation to buy worth around £4 million, depending on his appearances. Reports indicate that the deal has moved through the medical and formal stages, with Nedeljkovic expected to become Rangers’ 11th signing of the summer.
Nedeljkovic arrived at Aston Villa from Red Star Belgrade and has also spent time on loan with RB Leipzig. His pace, attacking ability and energy from the right side are viewed as important qualities for Rangers manager Derek McInnes.
The Serbian international could now provide competition at right-back and is being viewed as a potential successor to the attacking influence previously provided by James Tavernier.
While some reports describe the move as a completed signing, the most reliable reports indicate that the agreement is a loan with a conditional permanent transfer, rather than a new long-term Rangers contract already being signed
