“Joining a club with the history and ambition of AC Milan is a dream come true. I want to help the team compete for trophies and make the fans proud. This is a new challenge, and I’m ready to give everything.”
The move brings an end to a memorable spell at Aston Villa, where Watkins established himself as one of the Premier League’s most reliable forwards. His pace, relentless work ethic, and clinical finishing made him a fan favourite and a key figure in the club’s rise under manager Unai Emery.
Aston Villa released a heartfelt statement thanking Watkins for his commitment and professionalism throughout his time at the club.
“We would like to thank Ollie Watkins for his outstanding service, dedication, and unforgettable contributions to Aston Villa. He leaves with our gratitude and best wishes for the future.”
AC Milan believe Watkins has all the qualities needed to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare to challenge for the Serie A title and compete in European competitions. Club officials praised his experience, leadership, and ability to score important goals.
Fans have flooded social media with reactions to the blockbuster transfer. While Aston Villa supporters expressed sadness at losing one of their biggest stars, many wished him success in Italy. AC Milan fans, meanwhile, welcomed the striker with excitement, hoping he can become the club’s next prolific goalscorer.
Watkins is expected to join his new teammates immediately for pre-season preparations before making his unofficial debut in upcoming friendly matches. Supporters are already eager to see him wearing the famous red-and-black shirt and leading the attack.
