In the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Devontez Walker, a fast wide receiver, with the 113th overall selection. The two-time MVP Lamar Jackson will lead this offense, which the wide receiver from North Carolina will be a part of. In a press conference after being selected in the draft, Walker was asked about his thoughts on receiving passes from Jackson.

It’s truly an honor, Walker remarked. “I’ve followed Lamar at Louisville since he graduated from high school. I believe he is an excellent football player. I’ve always wanted to be on his team, and now my dream is becoming a reality. He is a superb athlete. I’m excited to be with him since I enjoy seeing him so much.

The Ravens have been without a downfield threat since losing wide receiver Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals in the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker fills that void. Baltimore will need a new wide receiver to step up and take Odell Beckham Jr.’s place now that he is no longer with the team. As a rookie, Walker will have the opportunity to see action in a wide receiver group that is led by Nelson Agholor, Rashod Bateman, and Zay Flowers.
