he brother of Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic could be free to attend upcoming NBA playoff games despite being embroiled in a controversy that followed Game 2 of the Nuggets’ series with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Perhaps overtaken by a momentary sense that he could be Ryan Garcia, Strahinja Jokic punched a fan after the Nuggets defeated the Lakers 101-99 in Monday night’s Game 2, and the Denver Police Department has since confirmed that it has located the affected individual. However, it is as yet unknown as to whether the fan will file a police report or press charges following the incident, leaving this hulking Jokic brother in the clear…for now.

While a spokesperson for Denver Police said “the investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made,” the NBA has not issued an official statement about Strahinja Jokic since it announced its own investigation on Tuesday. Seeing as Game 3 takes place Thursday night in Los Angeles, it stands to reason that Strahinja, his brother Nemanja, and Nikola’s wife Natalijacan be among the crowd at Crypto.com Arena for this pivotal contest.

It remains to be seen how this controversy will affect the Nuggets big man, who torched the Lakers during the first two games of this quartertinal series. Although point guard Jamal Murray was the Game 2 hero, Jokic was key to Denver’s 20-point comeback as he posted a triple-double — scoring 27 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, and recording 10 assists. The Nuggets have won 10 consecutive meetings with the Lakers — and extending that streak to 11 games on Thursday, with or without Strahinja in attendance, would put LeBron Jamesand Los Angeles on the brink of an ignominious elimination.
