Harrison Ingram is being replaced as part of UNC basketball’s off-season rebuilding after he submitted his NBA Draft declaration on Saturday morning.

Ingram wrote on social media, “I would first like to thank my family and God for their sacrifices and support throughout my life.” “I want to express my gratitude to Coach [Hubert] Davis and the entire coaching staff for their support and belief in me, as well as for providing me with the chance to play and represent the University of North Carolina. You gave me a lot of self-assurance and enabled me to succeed. You guys really made this year memorable for me, teammates. I would also like to thank Tar Heel Nation for their fantastic support.

“I’m glad to declare that I’ll always be a Tar Heel.”

After playing two years at Stanford, Ingram transferred to the Tar Heels program last season.

With an instant impact for Carolina, the junior averaged 12.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. With 11 double-doubles and 327 total rebounds, he was second on the squad only to Armando Bacot, who ended with 19 and 380, respectively. With 51 steals, Ingram topped the squad as well.

At 43% of his shots from the field, he was among the most proficient shooters. Among players who attempted at least 30 3-pointers, his 38.5 percent 3-point shooting ranked third on the squad.

Ingram’s numbers demonstrate his can-do attitude, which UNC coach Hubert Davis frequently lauded.
