Lewis Hamilton seemed to be the target of a vicious jab from Max Verstappen during his live Twitch show.
This weekend marks the return of Formula 1 following a week-long break, with the first Chinese Grand Prix since 2019.
The world’s top drivers will be returning to the Shanghai International Circuit after the COVID-19 outbreak disrupted the previous few Grand Prix events.
Red Bull sensation and current F1 world champion Max Verstappen appeared to be in a laid-back attitude during his live Twitch stream before to the weekend.
Fans saw that the Dutchman couldn’t help but make light of both Hamilton and his fellow British drivers, Lando Norris and George Russell, during the session.
Verstappen cheekily remarked, “Haven’t heard that in a while,” when the British national song was playing in the background of a video that was shared on social media.
Because Hamilton was so dominant a few years ago, the British national anthem was played at Formula One tracks all around the world.
Russell is the only British driver to have finished first in the last two seasons; Hamilton hasn’t won a race since 2021.
Now that Verstappen is still winning, the Dutch national anthem has quickly taken over as the sport’s signature song.
The Red Bull driver stated: “With the new cars, it will be a bit of an unknown” prior to the Chinese Grand Prix. It appears like they have repainted it instead of resurfacing it from the track side.
We need to take care of that as I’m not sure what effect it has on the track’s grip. Everyone’s needs are the same; all we need to do is have a strong first lap and, ideally, avoid needing to make too many adjustments to the vehicle. That will enable you to get going quickly for the remainder of the weekend.
“Overall, I think there’s always a bit more of a question mark and a bit more chaos involved with the Sprint, which I guess is a good thing for F1,” Verstappen continued.
