Coventry City go in search of another huge three points in their quest to keep pace with the Championship play-off race tonight at fourth placed Southampton.

The Sky Blues have the opportunity of clawing themselves back to within a point of sixth placed Norwich in their game in hand over the Canaries. Saints have had a bit of a dip in form in recent weeks when they have managed just two wins from their last nine Championship matches, including four defeats, so it might just be a good time to visit St Mary’s Stadium where Russell Martin’s men have won 12, drawn three and lost four to date this term.

Buoyed by Saturday’s impressive victory over title-chasing Leeds United, Mark Robins’ men travelled to the south coast with plenty of confidence and just need to find the energy and performance levels to pull off another big win over a top six side.

Coventry City continue to make new history under the management of Mark Robins who has guided the club to their first FA Cup semi-final since winning the famous competition in 1987, in what is still regarded as the Sky Blues’ finest hour.

Having beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers some 37 years later in the quarter-finals, City now face the mighty Manchester United in the last four at Wembley on Sunday, April 21 – only the second time the club have ever reached that stage.
