EUGENE A few football players from Oregon took part in a committee to choose the Ducks’ 2024 uniforms prior to the team’s transfer to the Big Ten Conference this autumn.

The “Generation O” set of uniforms will be part of Nike’s routine makeover, which happens every few years, but players who were on the committee are really excited about this specific alteration. Players Jeffrey Bassa, Marcus Harper, Tez Johnson, and Traeshon Holden collaborated with UO football equipment administrator Kenny Farr.

With a special interest in fashion, Bassa emphasized his enthusiasm for the future.

“We have some stuff in the works,” Bassa said following Tuesday’s spring practice in Oregon. “Seeing what Kenny had planned for the year while sitting down in the room with him was a terrific experience. To the minute elements he completes, such choosing the socks and helmet we should wear with this. Even just being a part of history was incredible. With the outfits and all, I know that 2017 will be a big year. I am aware that everyone is thrilled.

Players have connected over being a part of the process, even though Bassa and his teammates haven’t disclosed any specifics about the uniforms, and the team hasn’t shared anything other than a teaser video on social media. Farr teased the athletes in the video, saying that while some of the uniforms will look “futuristic,” others would have a vintage aesthetic.

Throughout this process, there have also been some lighthearted jabs. For example, Bassa claimed to be “surprised” to learn that Harper, an offensive lineman, was on the committee.

Harper shook his head and replied, “I don’t know why.” “Even big people can have a little swag.”

Harper gave a clear explanation of what was expected of her when asked to preview Oregon’s new uniforms. The Ducks want to live up to the expectations that previous Oregon teams set.
