Randy Gregory’s presence with the 49ers should cause some concern, but so should more than just his unlucky exit from Denver. In addition, he has a history of being one of the NFL’s most often suspended players ever, dating back to his rookie season and involving drug-related suspensions that kept him out of the league for the entirety of 2017 and 2019.
He also received a game suspension the previous season for striking a Rams player. Questions regarding Gregory’s extensive docket with the league office were posed to coach Kyle Shanahan.

Prior to the 2021 season, Gregory seemed to turn things around after spending his first six seasons battling his demons and the aftermath from his substance usage suspensions—in addition to missing 2017 and 2019, he was suspended for the first six games of 2020.
