Max Verstappen has stated unequivocally that Red Bull is “where I want to be” going forward in response to rumors in the media that the three-time world champion is considering leaving the organization.

Although Verstappen’s contract with the Milton Keynes team runs through 2028, there have been rumors that he may start looking for racing opportunities elsewhere in 2025.

Toto Wolff, the manager of the Mercedes team, recently stated that he “would love” to sign the Dutchman and that, in the event that he were available, “no team up and down the grid would not do handstands to have him in the car.”

In addition, Verstappen addressed the subject head-on when questioned about teammate Sergio Perez’s earlier remarks that it would be “a blow for the team” if he left Red Bull as he got used to his media obligations ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

“I believe there are plenty of reasons to be joyful, correct?” Verstappen answered back. “I concentrate on that since the car is doing incredibly well and there are so many wonderful individuals on the team who are always striving for better outcomes.

“I’m happy when I concentrate on the performance, and when I go home, I don’t think about anything else because that’s where I want to be and it’s also pretty fixed where I am.”

Verstappen said that, in terms of how things are going on the track, he has never started a year in better shape following two commanding victories in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to begin the 2017 season.
