It’s difficult to think the 49ers will be able to simply get back on the horse and ride it to another fantastic season in which they win twelve or more games and go deep into the playoffs, but it’s also difficult to believe that despite all of their recent postseason setbacks, they have managed to put together a run of very good seasons. The only year this hasn’t happened since 2019 was 2020, when the injury bug finally caught up to them and ended their season before it had a chance to get going.
It is expected that San Francisco will have almost its whole starting offensive line back in 2024, and one might argue that their defense is at least more formidable than it was in 2023. Although Nick Sorensen, the 49ers’ first defensive coordinator, is undoubtedly a question mark, all the evidence point to the squad being a top team again the next season, and the early odds support that belief.
