Kansas City Chiefs: Has Patrick Mahomes surpassed Joe Montana already? Amazing parallel over first six seasons The New England Patriots are rubbing their hands because they have the third pick in the 2024 Draft. Many anticipate that after trading Mac Jones to Jacksonville, they will select a quarterback, but head coach Jerod Mayo says there’s a catch.

Although he isn’t suggesting they would select it right away, Jerod Mayo’s first season as head coach will be compared to Bill Belichic’s tenure with the Pats, particularly in regards to their connection with the quarterback.

Mayo asserted, “Right now, it’s the top priority. That being said, to select a guy at number three, you have to be truly in love with him. Therefore, practically, we still have all of our options.”

Mac Jones was an experiment that did not work out as anticipated, ending the Bill Belichick era with the team, while Tom Brady left enormous shoes to fill.

On their current quarterback depth chart, the Patriots have Jacoby Brissett, Bailey Zappe, and Nathan Rourke. Brissett is ranked highest because he has occasionally started at quarterback for the team. Other than that, not much can be expected from them.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the alternatives if they are looking for a quarterback; however, with Caleb Williams likely heading to the Chicago Bears, who own the first pick, the other two options are Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye.

The Commanders, meantime, are searching for a legendary quarterback and hold the second overall pick; still, Maye or Daniels might be the answer.
