Washington: Boston College defeated Clemson University men’s basketball on Wednesday night, 76-55, in the ACC Tournament second round.

PJ Hall (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) led the Tigers (21-11) with a total of 21 points. Hall was not alone in double figures for the Tigers as Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) scored 13 points.

Girard tied the record for most 3-pointers made in a season at Clemson with three made during the game. He is behind Terrell McIntyre (Raeford, N.C./Hoke County), who set the record with 99 points in his senior year from 1998 to 1999.

In the first stanza, Boston College surged out to an early 18-9 lead over Clemson. However, the Tigers rallied with an 8-0 run to cut the margin to just one. But the Eagles responded with a 14–1 run, and they would go on to lead by 12 at halftime.

The Tigers’ closest point total for the remainder of the game was ten.

On Selection Sunday, which falls on March 17, Clemson will find out where it will start in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
