Prior to the first spring practice, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney held a media conference on Wednesday.

Among the many subjects Swinney spoke about was the Tigers’ current state of health.

A long list of Clemson players who will be sidelined or limited this spring was supplied by Swinney.

“As far as injuries go, long-term players who are healing well and making their way back: Sherrod Covil, a scholarship player, tore his ACL back in November, as you are all aware. He’s doing fantastically. He’s doing incredibly well, according to Dabo Swinney. “They tell me he’s ahead of schedule.” Thus, when the season arrives, he will be prepared to travel.

Covil, a junior safety for the Tigers, had eight appearances and tallied ten tackles in the previous campaign.

In December, Jeadyn Lukus underwent surgery on her right hip. Though he’s doing well, Swinney stated that he will be leaving in the spring.

Lukus, a junior cornerback for Clemson, made seven appearances in 2023, including four starts. In the end, he had two pass breakups and five tackles.

“Another man you all know, Walker Parks, is a starter. He’s doing fantastically,” Swinney remarked. “We are hoping that he will be able to find some kind of individual employment and resume his progress in that regard. However, he’s tracking well.

Last season, Parks started the first two games for Clemson before going down with an injury. In his time in college, he has made 28 starts.

“Thereafter, Watson Young, an additional youthful scholarship athlete, suffered an ACL tear,” stated Swinney. “Hopefully, once the season begins, he will be prepared to go.”

Young attends Daniel High, which is conveniently located near Clemson, as a true freshman.

“Armon Mason has suffered a stress fracture.” So he’ll be out until spring, according to Swinney. Once more, I have nothing but loathing for this guy. Extremely enthusiastic about his chance. I truly regret that he was injured at camp the previous year. After fighting back from that, he now has a mild stress fracture.

Mason played in six games in 2022 before missing the entire previous campaign due to injury.

“The foot surgery was done on Tyler Brown. He’s doing fantastic,” Swinney remarked. “He’s not quite ready to go full steam yet, but he’s moving in the right direction, and we do expect him to find employment this spring.”

In 2023, Brown made 13 appearances, starting nine of them as a true freshman. With 52 receptions, he gained 531 yards and four touchdowns.
