The news that Gee Atherton’s injuries from his horrific crash yesterday are, comparatively speaking, “not too bad” brings us relief. Although he stated on Instagram that he had multiple fractures to his skull and vertebrae, it appears that he is recovering.
Yesterday was a heavy day. I was testing out a new drop on my Rampage run when I was unable to ride it out due to a combination of being slightly deep and a small wind gust.

Although my injuries are not too severe, I will need to rest for a few weeks due to several vertebral and cranial fractures.

The most painful thing, though, is that I will not be able to attend the event this Friday, especially considering how hard the dig crew has been working.

“Ferrari is very fast; I think we’re just way worse than we expected.”

Red Bull hasn’t exactly finished Friday at the top of the timesheet this year, and few people are probably going to think they won’t be in the running for pole position when qualifying takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. live on Sky Sports F1; however, it’s evident that there have been a few more difficulties than usual thus far, especially with lower fuel.

On a street circuit like this one, where the race has only been won four times from outside the front row in 13 years, qualifying well is also crucial.

“I think there are some interesting bits going on that we need to figure out overnight,” stated Perez, who once expressed fear that he would crash due to his difficulty with braking during the second session.
