For the past fifteen years, Tallahassee and Clemson have been the conduits for the ACC. The team that prevails in the yearly meeting between the two teams usually ends up winning the conference and rising to the top of the rankings across the nation. Last year, the Seminoles ended a seven-game losing streak against the Tigers, and in 2024, the game will feature a little additional flair.
After Jordan Travis, a former standout quarterback, used up all of his eligibility, Florida State went via the transfer portal in search of a new starting quarterback this offseason. It so happened that Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagalelei was circled by head coach Mike Norvell and the ‘Noles. The Clemson graduate transfer is back in the ACC, where he started his career. With Florida State hosting the Tigers in Doak Campbell Stadium on October 5, there will be plenty of storylines to follow.
As Florida State and Clemson prepare for yet another meeting, excitement is already growing on both sides. For two seasons in Orange and Purple (2021–2022), veteran Tigers linebacker Barrett Carter was a member of the Orange and Purple team. Though the two standouts will be on different sidelines, he’s delighted to compete against him on the same pitch once more.
On the ACC Network, Carter declared, “DJ, that’s my brother.” “It will be a lot of fun to compete against him because we were competitors in practice for two years and he is among the best I have seen.” He is a stealthy killer and a fierce competitor. Because of this, I’m excited for the chance to battle against him once more because I know he’ll succeed down there. However, I’m interested to see how we compare to them.
