PHILADELËPHIA (AP) – Joel Embiid wants to play again this season, both for the U.S. Olympic team this summer and for the Philadelphia 76ers, who are struggling to make the playoffs without the injured All-Star.

The current NBA MVP, Joel Embiid, had a meniscus tear in his left knee early in February after being injured when a player landed on him. This has kept him out of action. This season, Embiid has already been hindered by knee problems that have lost him several games and the 76ers a strong position in the standings.

Embiid maintained his MVP-caliber performance while well. At the time of his injury, he averaged 35.3 points per game, 11.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, making him the NBA’s top scorer. Jan. 22 saw him set a career-high 70 points and 18 rebounds in a 133-124 victory over San Antonio.

Furthermore, the 2014 draft’s third overall selection claims he is not finished yet.

At the team’s New Jersey complex on Thursday, Embiid told reporters, “That’s the plan” to make a comeback. “Of course, everything needs to go according to plan in order for me to get well and be as close to everyone as I should be.”

Embiid’s return has no set timeline, according to the 76ers and him.

According to Embiid, “you can never tell how the body reacts, especially once you start ramping up.” “Everything relies on the sensation and whether it is wonderful. That’s fantastic to hear. You must continue even if something doesn’t feel right.

These days, Embiid and the 76ers are both in pain.

Under first-year coach Nick Nurse, the 76ers once again spent the majority of the season in the upper half of the Eastern Conference standings with Embiid and fellow All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey.

The Sixers would be fortunate to escape the draft lottery without Embid. Since Embiid was injured in a game on January 30 due to a fall on his left leg by Golden State’s Jonathan Kuminga, they have a 4-8 record. Even with the arrival of Kyle Lowry and Buddy Hield, they are now 33-25 overall and 7-17 overall this season without Embiid. This is closer to a play-in tournament position than a serious shot at winning their first NBA championship since 1983.

The nurse stated, “We are definitely hopeful of a return and as soon as possible and all that stuff.” “I believe it is still our responsibility to look for ways to help these guys get better. We make sure to arrange the pieces appropriately around him since we know he will fit right back in. Proper settings, fashion, and everything surrounding him. the appropriate defense tactics surrounding him.

Embiid declared he will try to play even if the Sixers collapse in the standings and the postseason seemed unattainable.

He declared, “I just love playing basketball.” “I want to spend as much time as possible on the ground. I have around twenty years to complete this. I want to be on the floor whenever I get the chance. Where we are is irrelevant. I don’t really care where we are—four, five, three, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven—I just want to play as much as we can and try to support us.

Embiid stated that he was “not even close” to 100% during the two months before to the knee injury, but his desire to succeed kept him in the starting lineup.
