This week, the Las Vegas Raiders will get to witness the majority of players being selected at the annual 2024 NFL Draft Combine, which takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana. Antonio Pierce, the head coach, and general manager Tom Telesco are expected to speak to us this week about what they are hoping to find at the combine and in the draft.

Naturally, the draft takes place before the free agency period, but the draft is equally, if not more, crucial to developing a top team each and every season. Fans will be horrified to learn this, yet it plays a significant role in the Kansas City Chiefs’ current dominance. Patrick Mahomes was one of the key players on that team that they selected in the draft.

It begins in the draft if the Raiders want to become the next dynasty, and this week we will see some guys who will play for the Raiders in the future before we even know who will don the Silver and Black in 2024. At A to Z Sports, we are selecting players for each team in the draft round by round to determine which ones would be the best selections.

We selected defensive tackle Byron Murphy in the first round because we won’t be moving up or down in these particular scenarios. It’s time to choose the individual who will participate in round 2—a combine participant.
What the Raiders do in round one will determine their final choice. Are they going to trade up? Will they select an offensive tackle at No. 13 or hold onto their spot and take a defensive player? We simply don’t know, so this time I went with offensive tackle since we didn’t make any trades and I had previously selected Murphy, the greatest defensive lineman in this round.

In the end, I believe the Raiders select a quarterback by trading up. That’s just my opinion of what will transpire. Therefore, if they choose Paul, it would mean that O’Connell would be leading them in 2024—a move that many supporters find objectionable. But this choice would ensure that he is better protected.

Jermaine Eluemunor of the Raiders is about to enter free agency. Given how brilliantly Thayer Munford performed after being cast into the flames, there’s a good probability they won’t be able to save him. It doesn’t mean they won’t compete for an offensive tackle slot in the draft. Paul seems like he would fit in nicely in Silver and Black, so he wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Paul is the eighth-ranked offensive tackle and 48th-ranked player on A to Z Sports’ Big Board. Luke Getsy, who guided the Chicago Bears to a top running unit both of his seasons there, is the new offensive coordinator, so it’s safe to say that running the ball will remain this team’s signature move.

Paul is a fantastic run blocker as well, even if it seems like he is more of an outstanding throw blocker. Having a player who can run and pass block wouldn’t be a bad thing, particularly if your quarterback is going to be young and not very mobile.
