KPIX (SANTA CLARA) – On Saturday night, the 49ers were playing with heavy hearts and thoughts of the Beathard Family. They managed to defeat the Rams 34–31 in the end.
Early on Saturday morning, the crew experienced the worst kind of tragedy. Clayton, the younger brother of quarterback CJ Beathard, was murdered in a bar brawl.
“It’s hard to lose a family member, but right now during Christmas tonight, and the tragedy that happened with him this morning is sad,” said Tina Chavez, a Chico resident. “I want him to know that he and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Police said that Beathard, 22, got into a fight with a few other people in a Nashville bar about a lady. He and two other people were attacked when the alternation proceeded outside. At the hospital, Beathard and another man were declared deceased.
In order to identify four persons who are needed for interrogation, police are seeking for the public’s assistance. Surveillance footage of three guys and a lady at the bar was made public.
It’s unfortunate that something like that needs to occur, particularly on a day like today “added Selma resident BJ Marquez.
In a statement to The Tennessean newspaper, Beathard’s parents said, “He will be missed.” That is putting it mildly. When he grinned, no one else’s light shone as brightly.”
Greg Williams of Las Vegas said, “It’s all of us, we are all one family, so our prayers go out to you and your family.” “We here for you, one family, Niner Nation.”
According to a statement from the team, the 49ers family was “shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the tragedy.”
In addition to their 34-31 victory over the Rams on Saturday night, the ’49ers Faithful’ bonded over yet another thing because of the unexpected defeat.
