Ryan Williams, a five-star wide receiver, will not be signing his National Letter of Intent to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide until February, despite having reclassified to join the 2024 recruiting class.

Williams plans to sign his National Letter of Intent on February 9, his 17th birthday, and two days after National Signing Day on February 7. Williams has been committed to Alabama since October 2022.

Williams’ announcement last week that he was moving up to the 2024 class from the 2025 class garnered media attention. Two days prior to Saraland’s 31-28 loss to Clay-Chalkville in the Class 6A state title game, he announced his reclassification.

Williams had a fantastic game for Saraland despite the loss; he finished with 343 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.

As of right now, the No. 2 recruit in Alabama according to 247Sports Composite will play college football the following season and be a part of the No. 3 nationally ranked Alabama 2024 class. In the Tide’s 2024 class, he ranks third among five stars, following Jaylen Mbakwe and Julian Sayin.

Prior to being reclassified, Williams was permitted unofficial visits. Having entered the 2024 cycle, he can now make official trips. He has stated that he plans to visit Texas and LSU. He was at Auburn last week for a basketball game.
