The Boston Celtics defeated the Sacramento Kings 144-119 to avenge their first loss to the Golden State Warriors. Led by Derrick White’s six, the C’s shot 22–42 from three after missing a franchise-record against the Warriors. In two of his last three games, White has made six or more triples.
“We were just playing the right way, getting good looks and knocking them down,” White stated. They play quickly, and we want to play quickly as well, so we’re playing up and down. The game was enjoyable.”
With his two-way high-level play for Boston lately, White’s status as the NBA’s most underrated player has swiftly changed to an All-Star conversation. One of the most well-known tales in the franchise is how the guard has changed over the past year or so in green.
White responded, “I’m just trying to win games,” when asked if he was thinking about getting selected as an All-Star. That’s all I have on my mind at the moment. “Just got to keep winning and see what happens.”
With a huge performance that included three triples, nine rebounds, six blocks, and 24 points, Kristaps Porzingis made a significant impression upon his return.
Porzingis is incredible, White remarked. “Matchup nightmare, keep our paint safe. He sort of handles everything for us. His presence is always appreciated.”
White was aware of the importance of the victory because the Celtics let Tuesday’s game against Golden State slip. With Al Horford out and Jayson Tatum out of the lineup due to an ankle sprain, it would be difficult to compete with Sacramento’s potent offensive lineup.
Boston desired to maintain their lead. It was at this time last year, on their west coast trip, that the Celtics started to look like someone else.
“Second night of a back-to-back, two guys out, people probably make excuses of why we don’t need a win, but we had the right mindset coming into the game and came out with the right way and got a good road win.”
