LOUISVILLE, KY: An incident occurred at the UPS Worldport facility in Louisville on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of an employee.

Authorities say that at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) Public Safety Department responded to a report of an employee who had been hit by a car in the Worldport area close to the 900 block of Grade Lane.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victim was Dallas Carroll, 46, of Georgetown, Indiana, on Friday.

Donovan Sims, a spokesman for Louisville Fire, informed WHAS11 News that a crew was called to the location for a “semi-extrication.” Carroll passed away there, according to the police.

A UPS representative said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of an employee today at Worldport.”

Carroll may not have been a Teamsters Local 89 member, but according to a union representative, the union’s “hearts are with all those involved and affected by this tragic incident.”

Investigators stated that although they do not believe foul play was involved, the LMPD’s Homicide Unit will be in charge of the probe.
