Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat endorses Jamie Jaquez for Rookie of the Year Bam Adebayo believes that Jamie Jaquez, along with Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren, should be considered for the Rookie of the Year title this season.
During the NBA All-Star media availability this weekend, Miami Heat centre Bam Adebayo was given a global stage.
He was careful to take advantage of the occasion to support colleague Jaime Jaquez.
After concluding the interviews on Saturday, Adebayo declared that Jamie will win the Rookie of the Year award.
This season, Jaquez is not likely to take home the trophy. Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder are the favourites.
“I have a great deal of respect for Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama,” Jaquez said to Inside The Heat. “They are extremely gifted athletes who have demonstrated their abilities and potential at a very high calibre. It’s never easy to compare my play to that of other players in the Rookie of the Year competition, especially when they have distinct skill sets and playing philosophies.”
Prior to missing six games due to a groyne injury in January, Jaquez was more of a talking point. He’s had some difficulties since coming back.
