Even the Minnesota Wild bye weeks are packed with news these days. Most players have taken this time off to likely lounge on warm beaches as the league’s best arrives in Toronto, but the news around the team keeps churning.A couple Minnesota talents are nearing the decision to turn pro in North America as soon as possible, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic. Both of their well-known Russian-born prospects appear to be debating whether to go abroad or return to the KHL the following season. Marat Khusnutdinov, a 2020 second-round selection, might arrive as soon as his season concludes in February, which corresponds with the usual arrival date for Russian athletes.

Danila Yurov, a fellow countryman and past first-round selection in the 2022 draft, appears to be progressing more quickly. Unexpectedly, Yurov’s KHL team has extended an offer to him. However, for a KHL great, the suggested $330,000 contract is incredibly little. To the point where there are whispers that he hasn’t signed the contract because he might be considering joining the NHL instead of playing one more season in the Russian pro league.

It’s exciting to watch at least one of the Wild’s Russian prospects play for the NHL team before the season ends,

especially for a season that looks certain to end with the team missing the playoffs. Even though Yurov will probably start in the AHL and arrive here later in the season,
