The co-offensive coordinator for Nebraska has addressed the media for the first time since moving to Lincoln. Earlier this week, Josh Martin’ had a conversation with the Husker Radio Network.
Thomas is joining the team as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator. He spent the previous season working with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an offensive assistant coach before joining the Cornhuskers.
Marcus Satterfield, the offensive coordinator, will hand off the quarterback coach role to the incoming member of the staff. In addition to continuing as the team’s offensive coordinator, Satterfield will now take over as tight ends coach, taking Josh Martin’s position as position coach.
Rhule and Thomas have worked together in the past, having previously attended Temple and Baylor. His most recent positions as offensive coordinator were at Arizona State in 2022 and UNLV in 2020–21.
For me, it fulfilled every requirement. Of course, it’s a special circumstance involving well-known people. It was cool to see everyone I knew as soon as I entered the building, starting with (coach of wide receivers) Garret McGuire, whom I coached in college, and continuing down to (coach of running backs) E.J. Barthel, who used to work in the recruiting department, and secondary coach Evan Cooper.
