The Atlanta Hawks supporters yelled “We don’t want you” at the Lakers guard during Tuesday’s game, letting D’Angelo Russell know they weren’t willing to trade Dejounte Murray for him!

Russell’s decision to head to the free-throw line after getting fouled during the Lakers vs. Hawks game at State Farm Arena in Atlanta was a cold-blooded moment.

“You are not wanted by us! Reporter Dave McMenamin caught the chorus of fans in the upper bowl yelling, “We don’t want you!” on camera.

The chants are in response to reports that the Lakers are reportedly shopping D’Lo, and that they are looking to trade for Murray, an All-Star guard who signed a $120 million, four-year contract extension with the Hawks in July of last year.

This season, Russell, who is on his second stint with Los Angeles, is averaging 17.1 points and 6.1 assists.

However, no deal has been agreed upon, thus for the time being, the Hawks supporters get their wish. However, the Lakers have until the deadline on February 8.

Quin Snyder, the coach of the Hawks, declined to comment on the trade rumours, telling reporters before to the game, “I believe I stated clearly that I don’t comment on rumours and speculation.” I have no involvement with that.”

Despite the jesting, Hawks supporters were pleased with their team’s victory, defeating the Lakers 138-122, partly due to Russell’s poor performance (he finished with just 9 points on 3 of 11 shooting).

Stay focused, DLo!
