Jesse Marschke joins the Dragons following the Ronald Volkman fiasco.
Although Volkman was rumoured to have signed a one-year contract, the Dragons had not yet submitted the paperwork to the NRL.

The 21-year-old had trouble in training drills, and the Dragons parted ways with him after learning about the injury during a medical check. The team was looking for another player on the market.

Due to the ruling, Volkman will not have a contract for 2024. This is because he successfully requested an early release from his Warriors contract in order to join the Red V.

In his remarks, Warriors CEO Cameron George cleared his team of any responsibility and asserted that the Dragons ought to have known about Volkman’s shoulder condition before to trying to recruit him.

George told The Sydney Morning Herald, “I would have thought a club would take that kind of due diligence before agreeing to sign someone.”

“We made an immediate release agreement with Ronald’s management. We paid for his release, and his management had the task of securing a deal with another team.

“We don’t care what the requirements were for him to join another club. It has been reported since then that he trained with them.

With Marschke joining Kyle Flanagan and Ben Hunt, the NSW Cup veteran will now be the new guy to provide Shane Flanagan’s halves stocks some depth.
