Given that some well-known players’ contracts expire this summer, Tottenham may be able to score some incredible transfer deals in 2024. With the summer acquisition of Manor Solomon and the permanent recruitment of big players like James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson, and Guglielmo Vicario for little under £150 million, Ange Postecoglou has already ventured into the free agency market.

A lot of players have already been linked to a winter swap due to injuries hurting the squad, so the Lilywhites also appear to be in for a busy January. Now that van de Ven and Cristian Romero are out for Spurs, the team is considering Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin as defensive options.

Donley experienced the same thing during the previous Brighton game; after Lewis Dunk’s vicious tackle, he was stripped again and about to enter the game before Dejan Kulusevski stood up and was cleared to play. While it was undoubtedly a disappointing moment for Donley, who is trying to gain more playing time in the first team, it did show that Postecoglou is considering him heavily when considering an aggressive substitution.

Throughout the season, he will have more opportunities; who knows, the head coach might even decide to rearrange his team for Friday’s FA Cup third round match against Burnley. But now there will be an additional
