Cricket West Indies Announces 2025 West Indies Championship Schedule

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 West Indies Championship, marking the return of the prestigious first-class competition in the Caribbean. The tournament is set to begin on January 24, 2025, and will run through to March 2025, bringing together the region’s top domestic teams in a contest for supremacy in West Indies cricket.

The 2025 edition of the West Indies Championship will feature six regional teams: Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Jamaica Scorpions, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force, and Windward Islands Volcanoes. The competition will take place across multiple venues throughout the Caribbean, including the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados, Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad, and the National Stadium in Guyana.

In a statement, CWI’s Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams, emphasized the importance of the Championship as a critical platform for developing local talent and providing opportunities for players to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. He highlighted that the tournament continues to play a significant role in preparing players for international cricket, especially with the upcoming international fixtures scheduled for 2025.

The Championship will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing against every other side in a bid to secure a spot in the final, which will determine the 2025 West Indies Champion. Teams will battle for the coveted title in a format that promotes the development of both experienced players and emerging talent.

With the West Indies Championship being a key fixture in the Caribbean cricket calendar, fans can look forward to an exciting contest featuring some of the region’s best cricketing talent as they aim to clinch the prestigious title.
