On Wednesday night, the ACC unveiled its conference calendar for 2024, giving details on the remaining dates that Florida State’s forthcoming schedule is still uncertain.A new schedule is being implemented by the conference with the addition of Stanford, Cal, and SMU. Every school will participate in eight conference games annually, and during the following seven seasons, all 17 teams will face each other at least twice. The Seminoles will continue to play Miami and Clemson each year, giving them two protected games. The top two ACC clubs based on conference winning percentage will play in the title game, and there won’t be any more divisions. As previously announced, Florida State’s season opener will take place abroad. In Week Zero of the season, the Seminoles will play their conference opener against Georgia Tech in Ireland. Ireland’s Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will host the match.
Next, on Labor Day, the team will return to the United States to play Boston College in another ACC game that doubles as the home opener. Three years in a row, the Seminoles have defeated the Eagles, with a 31-29 victory in 2023.
Arriving at the first of this season’s three BYE weeks, Florida State stays in Tallahassee to play Memphis. After going 10-3 under Ryan Silverfield’s leadership the previous season, the Tigers are a cunning foe. Head coach Mike Norvell is obviously quite familiar with this program.
After that, the Seminoles will play six ACC teams over the course of the next seven weeks to start the majority of conference action. This includes back-to-back games against two of the newest teams in the league. FSU will finish up a three-game homestand before traveling to Dallas to play SMU.
One week from now, one of the most eagerly awaited games of the season will see Florida State return home to face Clemson. DJ Uiagalelei, a former quarterback for the Tigers, will try to continue his winning streak in the rivalry, albeit on the opposing side.
After that game, the Seminoles head off on their own two-game road trip of the season. Florida State will play Miami in two weeks after facing Duke on Friday night. Before facing the Blue Devils, the team will enjoy a bye week.
