The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team has done very well lately in both recruiting and using the transfer portal.
However, it’s hard to argue that the rival Iowa Hawkeyes didn’t get a pretty big win in the transfer portal on Saturday, when former Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor committed to Kirk Ferentz and company.
However, shortly after Proctor, a former five-star prospect from Iowa, committed to the Hawkeyes, a video of opposing players began circulating online.
In the video, the great lineman was interviewed during an event at his new college.
In the interview, he said that one of the main reasons he chose Iowa after leaving Alabama was because the Hawkeye coaches were a shoulder to lean on when he was in trouble.
What some have taken issue with is that coaches “slapped” him when he played poorly. More than a few college football fans believe this sort of thing amounts to tampering.
And to be honest, it’s hard for the mind not to go there right away. Especially in an era where coaches complain early and often that tampering occurs regularly.
All you have to do is read the comments on the video below and it’s pretty clear that this is a situation that will make some pretty strong statements in the near future.
Whether anything comes of it officially is another question.
