The Seattle Seahawks will interview one of the hottest names in coaching today.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks will interview Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for their head coaching position on Saturday.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider met with the media Tuesday and said candidates like Johnson, who are still practicing in the playoffs, will continue to be included in the process in Seattle, but that there is ” rules that we must respect. as the team attempts to fill the void left by Pete Carroll.

Johnson and the Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round on Sunday.

This season, under coach Dan Campbell, Johnson has helped lead a revitalized Detroit offense that has become one of the league’s best thanks to his scheme and depth of talent on that side of the ball.

Led by quarterback Jared Goff, the Lions offense features a dynamic duo of running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, along with All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St.

Brown, standout rookie tight end Sam LaPorta and an impressive line offensive. Detroit averaged the third-most offensive yards per game (394.8) during the regular season.

If he were to come to Seattle, Johnson would have an equally talented group of offensive players who have not lived up to expectations this season.
