Less than 60 minutes after Miami’s 31-24 loss to Rutgers in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl, outsiders started to voice their disapproval of the show. Cardale Jones, a former Ohio State quarterback, specifically targeted the esteemed university.

Man, I’m sorry for the recruits that are heading to Miami University for NIL, Jones posted on X, the former Twitter. “Unstable programme, poor staff, and one of the worst home game environments in college football.” The solution isn’t always to chase the money. However, best of luck.

Jones was an Ohio State player from 2012 to 2015. As a redshirt sophomore going into the 2014 season, Jones ranked third among quarterbacks for OSU, behind Braxton Miller and JT Barrett. But Jones was thrust into the spotlight when the two were hurt late in the season.

He was a perfect fit. On the eve of the NCAA football committee’s first-ever playoff selection, Jones led the Buckeyes to an incredible 59-0 victory over No. 11 Wisconsin in his first career start. Jones was declared the game’s MVP.

He turned in back-to-back strong performances after the performance, leading OSU to a national championship. This season, Miami was unable to locate a comparable success story. With a 7-6 record at the end of the season, the Hurricanes had started 4-0, including a victory over Texas A&M.
